Lorie Birk started HR Law Works, LLC in 2017 as a way to continue her passion of supporting employers. She is an employment lawyer that has served as in-house counsel and external advisor to a variety of companies crossing multiple industries and multiple locations. In addition, she has led human resources departments. She began her career in Silicon Valley, California and moved to Arizona in 2006.
During her career, Lorie has provided counsel as part of the executive management team. She has dealt with many facets of HR and employment law including internal investigations, Department of Labor investigations, civil rights charges, mergers and acquisitions, compensation plans, wage and hour issues, leaves of absence, and hiring and termination processes.
Lorie is a very active member of SHRM of Greater Phoenix. She is the current Past President and assists with various committees.
Lorie obtained a B.A. in International Relations from the University of San Diego and her law degree from McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific. She is licensed to practice law in Arizona, California and Texas. She also has obtained the designations SPHR and SHRM-SCP.
In Lorie’s free time she loves to get in the kitchen to cook and to explore the outdoors by going on hikes. In addition, Lorie and her husband love to travel and experience many places. You can see some of their adventures here.
